On Wednesday 26th November 2008, HRH Prince of Wales, founder of Mosaic was joined by HRH Princess Badiya bint El Hassan of Jordan to celebrate the achievements and positive contributions made to society by young emerging Muslim talent at the Mosaic Talent Awards held at the Natural History Museum, London UK. Out of the many entries received 31 were shortlisted for awards in 8 categories for their inspirational work in society.

Awakening was proud to be a sponsor of the Art, Culture and Media Award. Other sponsors included the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Accenture and the Department of Local Communities. Mr Sultan Alturki, the chairman of Awakening Worldwide presented the award alongwith HRH Prince of Wales and HRH Princess Badiya bint El Hassan to the winner Zarah Hussein.

Awakening Publications also released its latest book 'Art of Integration' by renowned photographer Peter Sanders. The pictorial book highlights how the Muslim community has integrated into British Society contributing to the rich cultural diversity.

Hussein Zahawy who played for the epic film 'Kingdom of Heaven' mesmerized the 500 capacity audience with the performance of his debut album 'One Word'. The album is now available from awakeningstore.com

Awakening Worldwide has moved to its new headquarters in central London, UK. It will now have a permanent base at Unit 306 New Loom House, 101 Back Church Lane, London E1 1LU.

In January 2000, the company opened its first office in Swansea, Wales. 2001 saw Awakening expand its operations by opening a branch office in the United States. This was then followed in 2006 by the opening of an office in Egypt.

London presents a wealth of exciting opportunities for Awakening. In addition to being a world renowned media and communications hub, its location is such that it is easily accessible by clients and partners the world over.

Awakening Records is pleased to announce the signing of Maher from Sweden. Maher has been a music producer for RedOne - working initially in Sweden and more recently New York.

Maher was working with chart topping artists such as Kate Deluna on her debut album which included smash hits 'Whine up' and 'Run the Show'.

After a long break and some reflection Maher decided to promote Islamic values through his music. He is now working on his first debut album with Awakening Records, due to be released later this year.

Awakening Records signs Nasheed artist and songwriter Irfan Makki. He has performed all over the world, sharing the stage with Dawud Wharnsby Ali, Zain Bikha, 786 and the US based hip hop group Native Deen.

Irfan recorded his first solo album 'Reminisce' in 1997. 'Light Upon Light' and 'When the Leaves Begin To Fall', were met with high acclaim and became favourites with Nasheed listeners all over the world. He released his second album 'Salam' in 2003 before embarking on a world tour. Irfan is now working on a new album due for release later this year.
